Alcohol is the common name for ethanol. It is a drug that depresses the central nervous system. It retards the part of the brain that controls behavior.
It is important that people serving liquor understand how much alcohol they are providing to their customers. By understanding how much alcohol is contained within each drink provided to a customer, it allows you to make judgements about your customers drinking patterns and where that might lead them.
